A. Assess your child's readiness- I gave the readiness signs
above
B. Buy the right equipment buying a child size potty, it would
also be good to buy a travel potty seat for you little one when away from
home.
C. Create a routine- I keep track of everything on my phone, They
have potty training apps that will allow you to keep track of times you need to
go to potty and everything.
D. demonstrate for your child- Sometimes this isn't the easiest thing for
moms to teach there son. Trust me I tried, but you can let the boys sit until
they are comfortable standing. Or get your partner involved.
E. Explain the steps, they are learning how to use the bathroom. You need to
explain the steps to them.
f. Foster the habit
G. Grab some training pants, I think that these can be used for bedtime until
they get use to going.
H. handle setbacks- It may not work after the first few times, they may lose
interest or just not want to. Just start back the routine as soon as you
can.
I. this will be harder, you will actually have to wake them up and take them
to the potty. No drink before bedtime usually helps as well.
J. Jump for joy- this is always exciting for you and your child. Celebrate!!!!
