TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WHAT TO DO IF KIDNAPPED!

As a parent we worry about our children being Kidnapped or Abducted. This is very scary to think about, It really hit me the other day when I took my 3 kids all under 5 to Belk's.  Everything was fine and one of the sales persons come to me asking if they could help me find something and within those few minutes two of my children had left my side.  I was shouting their names and looking everywhere I could hear them but couldn't see them.  I was in panic mode and was so scared, someone in the store seen them and brought them back to me.  So long story short my kids are going to start getting lessons and the truth told to them about how mean some people are and how to protect their selves.   With that being said I did some research on what we should teach our children to do if the are kidnapped or trying to be.

In the United States 800,000 children are reported missing each year.  That is enough said right their for me to be prepared and have my children prepared.

TIPS

IF YOUR CHILD IS IN PUBLIC WHEN TAKEN; THEY NEED TO MAKE AS MUCH NOSIE AS POSSIBLE.  BITITNG, SCREAMING, KICKING, ANYTHING THEY CAN DO TO ATTRACT ATTENTION TO THEM.

IF THEY HAVE EVEN A CHANCE TO RUN THEY NEED TO RUN, TELL THEM TO GO TO ANY PUBLIC PLACE WHERE THERE IS OTHER PEOPLE.

CHILD NEEDS TO KNOW HOW TO CALL 911, ADRESS, PARENTS NAMES, AND OTHER INMPORTANT INFORMATION INCASE THEY CAN CALL.

IF CHILD IS PUT IN THE TRUNK THEY NEED TO LOOK FOR THE QUICK RELEASE IF THERE IS NOT ONE THEY CAN TRY TO KICK OUT THE TAIL LIGHT AND WAVE IF POSSIBLE OUT THE HOLE, SO THAT THEY MAY GET PULLED OVER.

IF RIDING IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR IF THEY HAVE ANY CHANCE TO JUMP OUT THEY MUST DO IT.  SOMETIMES  DISTRACTIONS WILL MAKE THEM SLOW DOWN THIS WILL HELP IF THEY ARE TRYING TO JUMP OUT.

Show your child how a car ignition works and tell her that sticking a piece of gum, paper, a button or other small object into the keyhole will prevent the abductor from starting the car.

CHILDREN SHOULD ALWAYS STAY WITH YOU IN THE STORE, UNLESS THEY ARE A CERTAIN AGE.

TELL THEM NOT TO TALK TO STRANGERS

MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO GET HOME, FOR SMALLER KIDS YOU CAN USE LANDMARKS TO HELP THEM REMEMBER.

LETS KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE AND REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF CHILDREN THAT ARE MISSING EACH YEAR.
